Thank you for your question. Replacing some parts can sometimes be a little tricky. Unfortunately, there are no instructions for replacing this thermostat. Most of these cap tubes fit inside the control housing. If this thermostat fits inside the housing but is just shorter in length, it should mount the same as the original, the length won't matter. If the cap tube extends into another section but it's too short to reach, it may not be the correct thermostat. In this case, I recommend reordering the thermostat. This does show to be the correct part number. I hope this will help you.
