I can understand wanting to repair you range yourself. It will save you a lot of money.

It sounds like the oven safety valve is not opening fast enough and causing a delayed ignition.

I would suggest that you replace the safety oven valve.

Before you do, I need to warn you that gas appliances are inherently dangerous to work on. I would suggest, for safety reasons that you have a technician work on the range and leak check the fittings after the repair.

The part number for the safety valve is;Y07646901 and you can order it from;Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
