Question and Answers

Q:

My washer does not agitate or spin; it completes all cycles, but clothes are left unwashed or drained of most water. Is this a cost-effective to repair job?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You didn't indicate if the motor is running or not when washing or spinning. If the motor is running then it could have a broken belt or a gear case failure.

If the motor is not running, it could have a timer failure, motor failure or a loose or disconnected wire connection. I highly recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer. It will require making voltage checks at the timer and motor. The repair could cost $200-$400 to repair depending on what the failure is.

You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
