Question and Answers

Why does my Whirlpool range element heat up and then cut off?

As the temperature rises inside the oven cavity the thermostat reacts by pulsing power to the heating element as needed to maintain about a 5 degree swing in the set temperature. This is normal operation for the element to heat up & then cut off. If the heat shuts off & will not come back on I suspect a faulty thermostat. Part number 660564.
