Question and Answers

Dryer want come on has a burnt smell light inside dont come on PYET444AYW Maytag Maytag laundry

Why won't my newly installed timer advance, the timer motor is running?

If the timer is set to "Time Dry" and the timer motor is running it should advance one increment at some given time.

If it's set to the "Automatic Dry" cycle the timer motor is only going to advance if the moisture control board does not sense moisture. If the moisture sensor bars are shorted together or if the yellow wire with the red stripe connected to one of the moisture sensor bars is shorted to cabinet ground the timer will not advance. But if the timer is running the timer should advance at some given time. I recommend allowing enough time for the timer to advance. If the timer never advances when set to "Timed Dry" the timer is bad.
