Q:

WHAT RECIRCULATING KIT IS NEEDED FOR G.E. MHC JVM1950sr1

A:

I see that Barbara H. posted a link for the installation guide on that model of GE microwave in the above response. Here is another link for that installation guide that may be easier to open and navigate: GE Microwave JVM1950SR1 Installation Manual . Page 19 of that manual shows how to position the exhaust fan for recirculation. Be sure that you unplug the microwave before pulling it down and adjusting that fan position. You will need a charcoal filter (part WBO2X1095) when operating the fan in that recirculation mode. I did not find that part available on the Sears Parts website. I did find it available from PartSelect.com. Here is a direct link for that part. Page 22 of the installation guide provided above shows how to install that charcoal filter. Page 29 of the owner's manual indicates that the charcoal filter needs to be changed every 6 to 12 months. Here is a link for that owner's manual in case you need it: GE Microwave JVM1950SR1 Owner's Manual .

This should be the information that you need to convert that microwave to recirculate the exhaust. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

Q:

LOOKING FOR THE CODE TO UNLOCK MICROHOOD (MHC) PURCHASHED 07/18/2009 FROM SEARS

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

In order to provide model specific instructions I will need to have the model number of your microwave. If you have your Owner's manual it will have the instructions on how to un-lock the controls. If you don't have it, you can likely locate the Owner's manual at Manage My Life by clicking on Manuals and entering the model number or reply with the model number and I will be able to provide the instructions.

Q:

What causes my Kenmore MHC 401.80086700 purchased 2/2009 to display 'Select Menu 1to 4' continuously? Even after clearing the display it goes back to this.

A:

Your symptoms point to a stuck button on the membrane keypad or a bad electronic control board in the microwave. The Kids Meals pad is the one that is likely stuck. I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair this type of failure in the microwave. Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service due to high voltage components inside the cavity that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the unit is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the unit following any service. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .
