Question and Answers

Dryer Timer changes on its own. MEDE300VW0 Maytag Residential dryer

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your dryer. Upon researching model MEDE300VW0: you can reset the unit by unplugging the dryer power cord for 5 minutes and reapplying the power. If the problem persists then the electronic control board may need to be replaced. The control board governs the functions of the dryer so when it fails it can cause the cycles to change on their own. I have posted a link of the timer to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Dryer won't heat MEDE300VW0 Maytag Residential dryer

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the dryer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Maytag model number mede300vw0.

In helping with your dryer.  The first thing to let everyone know is that they must first check there lint screen.  Pull it out and make sure the vent the screen goes into is not plugged.   Next check the vent area where it goes outside the house.   A dryer has to have a free movement of air to prevent heating problems and fire hazzards.

When it comes to a dryer not heating there are a few things to check on after you have made sure the lint screen and vent area is cleaned out good.

1.  Heating element on the right side of tub.

2.  Thermal cut off thermostats which are the two thermoastats on the side of the heating element.

3.  Thermistor which is on the back side of the blower like a thermostat

4.  Thermal fuse which is also on the back side of the blower.

All of these items have influence on the heating procedures and can all be checked with a meter by checking its continuity flowing in and out.

Below is a picture of the heating system.   Heating element is lower right at key number 14.  The thermal cut off thermostats are key 47 and key 48 (they come together in a kit).   Just above the picture is key number 42 the thermistor and key number 9 the thermal fuse.
