Warren: You have the correct timer based on the series number. You did not clarify which cycle was being used; Time dry or an Automatic dry cycle. If the timer is not advancing when set to Time dry the voltage supply to the timer motor will need to be checked across the white wire and orange wire. It could just be a faulty timer if 120 volts is measured. Did the new timer with any instructions? Beginning with series 16, the Timer on the Atlantis dryers was revised by removing a terminal that provided voltage to the Timer Motor and the Moisture Monitor Lights. An internal buss was added to the Timer, which replaced the removed terminal. A new wiring harness was released as shown below. Your new timer should have come with some instructions showing how the wire the timer. You may need a new harness.

How do I open up my Maytag Atlantis dryer model MDE7400AYW to replace a baffle?

A:

You will need to remove the top panel of the dryer to access the screws that secure the baffle. The procedure for removing the front panel and then the top panel is shown in the images below. Be sure that you unplug the dryer to disconnect electrical power before beginning this procedure.
