Question and Answers

Q:

Dishwasher Maytag model mdb7600aws, how to install latch on upper rack?

A:

The image below shows those components installed on the dishrack. The components should just snap into place. The image should help you see how they are positioned.

The top of the image that I sent is the front of the dishrack. According to the picture that you sent, it appears that you have the latch rotated 90 degrees off of the proper position. The long slots of plastic should clip onto the horizontal (sideways tine) on the dishrack as shown in the image that I sent. This concept is difficult to describe. See if you can position the latch as shown in the image even though it is difficult to see. I don't have a display of this dishwasher to send you better pictures or instructions. I am a Sears Technician. I hope that this information helps. If you still can't get the latch attached properly, reply with additional details and we will try to help you further.

I have examined this last picture and the parts list diagram. The rack that I was looking at is from a different series in this model of dishwasher. I think that I can explain how these parts go together on your dishwasher rack. The latch part will need to be installed on the vertical tines at the very front of the rack. I circled the location in green on the photograph in the image below. The latch will hold the fold-down tines in the vertical position. You will need 2 of the pivots. That part (99002709) is circled in blue on the parts diagram. The fold down tines will need to be positioned so that the tines circled in pink of the parts diagram clip into the slots on the latch. I hope that this explains how to install those parts. Thank you for your patience as we work this out. I appreciate you sending the pictures so that we can see the parts.

Q:

PROBLEM WITH MAYTAG QUIET SERIES 300??????????????

A:

Hi Matt,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The most likely cause of what you are describing is, the dishwasher has been accidently placed into sales demo mode. To disable the sales demo mode: Press the start/cancel button (see image below). If this does not work you can check the buttons using the table on the tech sheet. The diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please utilize the checks below. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please reply to this post.
