Question and Answers

Maytag Washer replace the thrust bearing assem.

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you replace the thrust washer on your washer. First, make sure the washer is empty then unplug it. Next, pull the washer out from the wall about a foot or so. Then tip the washer back against the wall. Have someone hold the washer so it can not fall while you are working in it. The thrust bearing is the large pulley on the bottom of the washer. Use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the dust cap and the c-clip. Make sure to hold the pulley because it will fall once the c-clip is removed. Then follow the instructions that are in the image below. The thrust bearing should also come with instructions. Once you have the washer reassembled, you can let it down and test the operation.
