Q:

Why won't my Amana washer agitate or spin?

A:

It could have a worn or broken drive belt preventing the transmission pulley from rotating or maybe the idler pulley spring has broken.

I added an image with the theory of operation and instructions on how to remove the front panel. Check to see if the belt is turning the transmission pulley. Most likely if the washer won't agitate or spin it's going to be related to the belt.
