Question and Answers

Low water flow and small ice cubes. Is that a filter issue? LSC21943ST Lg Refrigerator

Thanks for the inquiry and for using I am sorry to hear about the lack of pressure you're having with the icemaker, I know how frustrating that can be.

If you have an RO system, you shouldn't need an internal filter in the refrigerator. If you currently have a filter in place and have your RO unit running, take the filter out of the refrigerator and see if the icemaker runs normally, if so, the filter's internal carbon has expanded over time and is not allowing a free flow of water through it. This refrigerator has an internal filter bypass, so you can run the water system without the filter being installed.

Outside of that, it could also be an issue with the water valve not opening fully enough to allow a good pressure to the dispenser and icemaker. Sometimes the water valves can get clogged with water deposits which don't allow them to fully open or close.

I would start by taking the filter out and see if that makes any difference. If you would like to have a Sears Home Service Technician come to the home and help with the diagnosis/repair, click here to be directed to the page to set up service.
