Question and Answers

What can cause my TV to click on and off for a minute before coming on?

Since the problem is getting worse and only affects it at turn on, I would suspect capacitors on the power supply starting to go bad. There are some low voltage caps on this board that could show they're becoming defective by beginning to bulge a little at the top. The repair can be swapping these out to a higher tolerance capacitor. Sears would be able to handle the repair as well as any other local repair shop. I do not have locations of common capacitors to give you so you can shop around and the fix is reliant on the technician being able to identify the culprit capacitors. This can be tough when they are not visibly blown. Call Sears service for a quote on coming out to diagnose the issue and weigh that against a local shops bench fee to take a look at it. Unfortunately because of the size of this TV a house call may be needed.
