Q:

kenmore dryer heats up at first then gets cold while still running. ke

A:

There is a LP conversion kit. The LP conversion kit is part #694572. The conversion kit can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct .

Your dryer is not likely always igniting the burner assembly because of weak gas solenoid coils. Pry the little square plastic inspection hole cover off located below the dryer door. Start the dryer and look through the hole for several minutes and watch the glow bar igniter operation. If you find the glow bar igniter glowing red and then fading back off without any burner ignition is a good indication the coils are weak and they both need to be replaced. The coil kit is part #279834 and is available at Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Installation concerns of KE Induction Cooktop Model 43820

A:

I see that Julio posted a link for the installation manual on that cooktop in the above response. Here is another link for the installation guide for that cooktop that may be easier to open and navigate (and print): Installation Instructions for Kenmore Elite Induction Cooktop Model 790.43820 . That cooktop can be installed in a stainless steel counter but you may need to use a granite counter installation kit that is described on page 6 of that manual. I recommend that you provide that installation guide to your contractor if you decide to install the cooktop in a stainless steel counter. The cut-out dimensions need to be followed as shown in that guide. If you decide to install the oven underneath that cooktop, the contractor will need to plan for heat dissipation through the bottom of that stainless steel countertop.

I suspect that the cooktop can be installed over that oven. I do not have a definite answer at this time. I have contacted the manufacture to get a current cooktop and oven compatibility chart. The oven is listed on the current chart that I have but that exact model of cooktop is not there. I have requested a more current chart that should cover the current compatible models. I will update this thread once I receive that chart. I posted the most recent chart that I have in the image below.

Here is the installation guide for the oven: Kenmore Elite Wall Oven Model 790.48083000 . That wall oven installation guide shows the guidelines for installing the oven under a cooktop.

Q:

How to I re-stick my metal deflector to my KE induction cooktop?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The deflector is located at the front of the cook top and it can likely be glued back in position with a high temperature rated silicone adhesive. Now, if you're speaking of the stainless steel trim at the front or back edge of the glass, this trim is also likely fastened with a high temperature grade of silicone adhesive. NOTE: If the stainless trim is bowed or bent it will not likely fit properly or look aesthetically appealing. The stainless steel trim for model 790.42800500 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct. You can find high temperature rated silicone adhesive at any major home improvement center.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
