Question and Answers

Q:

Cant set range clock

A:

The image below shows the instructions for setting the clock on a typical model of Kenmore gas slide-in range. If you have that type of range, then the instructions below may help you set that clock. Try pressing the clock icon and then entering the present time on the keypad. Press the Start button to accept that time and set the clock. If that does not work, then you can shut off the house circuit breaker for the range to disconnect electrical power. Leave the power off for 1 minute. Reset the breaker to restore power. The clock should be flashing 12:00 when the range powers back up. You can use the numeric keypad to set the correct time and then press Start to accept the time as shown in the image below.

The number that you provided in your details does not appear to be a valid model number. It may be a number off of your sales receipt. If you need more help, reply with additional details and the model number of your range if possible.

Q:

Why will my treadmill not start?

A:

Plug a lamp or fan into the outlet the treadmill is plugged into to be sure you have power.

If the wall plug is good, someone will need to check with a volt/ohm meter to see why the treadmill doesn't run.

Q:

Leak at Kenmore Water Softner coupler

A:

Thank you for your question on the softener coupler that is leaking.

I do not have access to the service information from the technicians.

The model number is under the cover on the softener.

If you are referring to the bypass valve it has o-ring inside that you can replace.

There are a couple different sized bypass valves which would have different size o-rings.

Most of these bypass valves are held onto the softener with a plastic clip with the water turned off pry off the black plastic retainer clip and slide the bypass valve off the softener.

If the bypass valve is leaking in the slide portion of the bypass valve then remove the split ring on the opposite end of the bypass valve knob and slide the core of the valve out of the housing. With this removed you can replace the o-rings.

If the leak is a bypass valve to the softener connection then you can replace them quickly by using a small flat bladed screwdriver to peel them off the bypass valve.

One of the most popular bypass valve o-rings sizes are part number 7105013 size 13/16x1 internal bypass o-rings of which 3 are required.

The o-rings for the outside are part number 7170288 and there size is 15/16 X 1 3/16 of which 2 are required.

The larger bypass valve sizes are part number 7173016 of which 4 are required and the size is 1.109 ID X 1.387 OD. The external o-rings are part number 7170262 or 1 1/8 X 1 3/8.

I hope this will help.

Please let me know what find and we can continue if needed.

Sam A.
