Question and Answers

Q:

i have a fisher parkel washer model IWL16 and it is flashing a code of 37 need to know what part i need to get

A:

That code 37 indicates that you have a drain pump problem. Check the drain hose and the washer drain for problems. You may be able to access the bottom of the machine and "flick" or jostle the drain pump to remove an obstruction in that component. If not, you can use the procedure shown in the image below to access that pump. If you find not restriction or clog in the pump or the drain path, then you may need to replace that pump. You can view and order parts on this page: Fisher Paykel Washer Model IWL16 Parts. Use the full model number of your IWL16 washer to view and order parts for your exact machine. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

Q:

Fisher pakel top load washer #IWL16 will not drain water, and has error F37. I examined the pump and it was clean. The agitator vibrates, acts like it

A:

Hi Kelly,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

Machine has not drained out. Check that the pump is not blocked or that the drain hose outlet is not crushed or blocked or drain hose outlet is too high. (Maximum is 7 ft.). If the hose is not blocked or too high, you can run the diagnostics (see images below) and see if the pump will run. If the pump is making noise or shaking it is likely that the pump is bad. The diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please utilize the checks below. Check voltage at the drain pump from brown to white. Working with live electrical current can be very hazardous and possibly deadly. Do not attempt these measurements without the proper tools and safeguards. If you are not already sure you can perform these checks safely and competently, refer this work to a qualified professional.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
