Question and Answers

Timer knob GTDP300EM1WS Ge Electric dryer

Thank you for choosing and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your timer knob is not turning on your dryer.

It sounds to me like you will need to replace the knob itself. The knob has knotches inside to connect to the timer. When you take the knob off check the timer shaft to make sure it is not damaged.

You can also visit for parts, diagrams, and repair information.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

Dryer Won't Heat GTDP300EM1WS Ge Electric dryer

Hello, glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears
I am sorry and do understand your frustration when the dryer isn't heating.
Glad to help out.  I’m looking at your GE Dryer model number GTDP300EM1WS.

Your heating element and 3 thermostats are on the back of the dryer.  You are certain they are all good by having them checked with a meter.  You have replaced the heating element.

Only 2 items left that it could be for heating or the lack there of.   That is the wire connections from the heating element to the timer control or the timer control itself.

Make sure that you keep your lint screen and tubes cleaned out from the back of the dryer to the exit of the house.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter and I hope we can help you with your future questions and repairs.  Thank you for choosing Sears and using our
