Question and Answers

Q:

What would cause all 4 burners to quit working?

A:

If the oven works and heats that would confirm that 220 vac is being supplied to the range. However since none of the surface burners will work there must be a break in one of the 2 lines of voltage being supplied to the left front burner switch. The incoming voltages to all 4 infinite switches are connected in parallel.

In order for all 4 surface burners to fail, Line 1 (L1) or Line 2 (L2) voltage is not being supplied to the left front burner infinite switch. There could be a loose or bad connection it the top harness connector for the burner elements.

I added an image of the wiring circuit. You will be only concerned with the left hand diagram showing the 4 infinite switches. The voltage supply to the L1 and L2 on infinite switches originates at the terminal block on the rear of the range where the incoming power supply is connected. Since all 4 burners quit working most likely it has a burnt or loose wiring connection either at the terminal block or at the left front burner infinite switch.

You should be able to find the problem by sliding the range out and removing the rear console panel and terminal block cover.

In order to diagnose the failure a volt/ohm meter is needed or you should be able to visually find the bad or burnt connection somewhere between the terminal block and the infinite switch.

NOTE: Disconnect power to the range before servicing the range.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

Q:

4 cycle gas trimmer.

A:

Without knowing the model number I can only provide general information. If the cutting head is stopped from rotating when idling by placing the head on the ground and it begins spinning again when you lift it off the ground the engine is likely idling to fast. Reduce the idle speed.

Q:

microwave shutsdown after 4 seconds

A:

The F9 code indicates that you have an inverter failure. As noted in the previous answer provided above, this can be caused by a failed control board, bad inverter board or a failed magnetron. A wiring failure can also cause this problem.

You can try unplugging the microwave for 3 minutes and then plugging it back in. This will sometimes free up a stuck control board but has only a very slight chance of working. I suspect that the F9 will return. If it does, then the microwave will need to be serviced by a technician. Microwaves have high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the unit is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation shielding test must be performed on the unit following any repair. These are the reasons that I highly recommend that you have a service technician repair this type of internal component failure in the microwave.
