Question and Answers

How do remove the drum to install a heating element on a Frigidaire model GLEQ332AS1 dryer?

The image below will help you remove the drum and access the heating element.

There is also a small access panel in the rear which will help access the belt and motor pulley. Take a good look at the routing of the belt around the motor and idler pulley before you pull the belt off.

Remember to unplug the dryer first.

I'm also including in the 2nd image a wiring diagram for this particular dryer. If the dryer is not heating then the element is certainly one part that can be bad but there are others as well. The not heating problem can be caused by the timer, control thermostat, hi-limit thermostat, element or even the motor switch.

If the dryer will run but not heat then check the circuit breakers. It is possible for one breaker to trip leaving the dryer 120 volts to run the motor but no 240 volts to work the element.

I hope this information is helpful to you but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
