Q:

Kenmore Dishwasher: New inlet valve ordered and electrical connection doesn't fit.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your model number and details the wrong water inlet valve was shipped. My information shows that it uses part #W10219505

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

William: Can you double check the model number of your dishwasher and also look for the FSP part # on the new water valve and let me know what you find.

William: You did not see the FSP part #W10219505 on the new valve and only found 118C11-T? If so that would be odd. Usually the FSP part # would also match the W10219505. If you could double check I would appreciate it.

William; I'm sorry, you already double checked the part number off the tag which was above the 118C11-T number. It sounds like you may need to re-order the valve. I'm going to call Whirlpool and see if the part has been substituted but they are not open yet. I will be in touch with you. Thanks

William: I need you to look on the box the water valve was shipped in and let me know what the numbers are to right of the word CODE. This is a date code and it will be needed in order to find out why you received the wrong valve and hopefully prevent this from happening again. One more thing; can you also send a picture of the new water inlet valve connections and the harness together so I can forward it to the parts source per their request. Thank You.

William: Yes, that sounds good. Take a picture of the harness connector and the connector on the valve and a picture of the valve itself. Thanks for providing the date code too. I'll be waiting for the images/pictures. Thanks.

You may want to go to another parts source and see it they stock them and ask to look at it before purchasing it to make sure it's the correct one. Thanks and I'll be getting back to you.

William; Based on the images sent, your new valve is broken. The white portion of the valve where the harness connects is broken off. You will need to order a new valve.

William: My mistake, disregard that last statement of mine, one of my guys here was looking at the images sent and the old broken valve. He says you have the correct new valve. He thinks that part of the broken piece from the old valve is still attached to the harness and that’s why it's not fitting on the new valve. Look at the harness and see if part of the old locking part of the old valve is still not attached to the harness that plugs on to the valve. He seems to think that’s why the harness will not connect to the new valve. Let me know.

William: You are correct. Our images were not that great in detail but after further review we believe you have the wrong valve. I have a group of people working on the case and will now forward the images to the source. Your original valve is different for some reason. I will let you know what's up once we get feed back from the source. Thanks for your patience.
