Question and Answers

Frigidaire oven

It is likely that the electronic oven control board burned out. Since you heard a pop, you will probably find a burnt spot on that circuit board. You can check it by unplugging the range and removing the upper back panel. Here is a link for a brief repair video that shows how to replace that component: Range Clock Control Replacement . If you see a burnt spot on that board, then it will need to be replaced. The part number for that control board is 316557104. You can order it from the Sears PartsDirect website. Here is a direct link for that part: Clock Timer . You may also need the overlay unless you can reuse the original one as shown in that video.

I also recommend that you visually inspect the bake and broil elements in the oven for any apparent problems. If one of those elements is broken and it is shorted to the metal cabinet, then it could have caused that electronic oven control board failure. If you see no problems with that element, then just replacing the control board should fix your problem.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
