Thank you for contacting with your concerns about your Frigidaire Electric Range. I am so sorry to hear the bake element went out. Although it is a little disconcerting, the bright spot and the sparking on the element is actually normal when a part like this is going out. I will be happy to help you with this. I have included the link to order the bake element in case you haven't done that yet.

Bake Element for Frigidaire Range Model FEF354GSC.

If you do not feel comfortable completing the repair, you can have the element replaced by a Sears technician. To schedule an appointment go to or call 1-800-469-4663.

I have included the steps to replace the bake element should you decided to complete the repair yourself.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. Be aware that there may be sharp edges inside the appliance that can cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

Start by opening the oven door and removing the oven racks. Remove the screws that secure the oven bake element to the range back wall. Pull the element out until you can get to the electrical connectors on the element. Unplug the connectors from the old element and remove the old bake element. Next plug the connectors to the new element. Push the wiring back into the wall with care. You don't want to accidently cut the wiring on a sharp edge in the range. Secure the new element to the back wall with the screws. Restore power to the range and turn on the oven to test the new element.

I hope this answers your questions. If I can be of any further assistance, please respond to this thread. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
