Q:

What does the F 1 fault code indicate on my Jenn-Air oven model U276W?

A:

I didn't find any information on a Jenn-Air oven with model number U276W. There are similar model numbers such as W276. The F1 fault code on this type of oven indicates that the control detects a failed element relay on the control board. The control board (clock) would likely need to be replaced in this situation. This part would cost around $300. Labor for a technician to replace the control board would likely cost about $130. Here is a link for the Sears Service website if you decide to have the oven repaired: Sears Home Services .

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details and the full model number of your Jenn-Air oven (after rechecking it). Include the serial number of your range since this is a Jenn-Air product. The serial number can affect the parts needed for repair.

Q:

Kenmore electrical oven Electronic display reads - F 1 -, whats wrong?

A:

The F1 error code indicates the electronic control (clock) on the oven has failed.

The control is no longer available for ordering. Sears has a program where the control can be sent to a company that rebuilds them. The cost for this rebuild is $149.99.

If you want to repair the oven yourself, call 1-800-469-4663 and ask the agent there how to proceed.

Q:

Kenmoor Elite washer stops in mid-cycle with F 1 code

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry the washer is given you problems. Let's see if I can help, you fix it. The F1 fault code on this washer indicates that the water level pressure transducer signal is out of range. The pressure transducer air hose being pinched or crimped can cause this. A failed pressure transducer on the machine control board can also cause it.

The first image below shows the method for accessing the pressure transducer tube that runs from the bottom of the washer tub to the machine control. I recommend checking this air hose for pinches, twists or crimps. NOTE: Be sure to unplug the washer to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.

If you find no problems with the pressure transducer tube, then the machine control board will need to be replaced. The procedure for accessing and replacing the machine control board is shown in the second image below. The part number for the machine control board is W10189966. You can order this part from the Sears Parts Direct website www.searspartsdirect.com . The machine control is usually the cause of the F01 error code.

Make sure to unplug the washer before attempting any repair of the washer.

If you need more help with this washer, please reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
