Question and Answers

My dryer will run but no heat.

When it comes to a dryer not working it can definitely be frustrating. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, I found a great link in the website on your heating problem on Dryer. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I added an image of the wiring diagram below. I traced the heating circuit and circled components and contacts that must close in order to complete the circuit to the igniter.

The high limit, thermal cut-off, operating thermostat, thermal fuse, flame sensor and igniter can be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. If any one of the above components are open/measures no continuity, that component is faulty. I would start with disconnecting the thermal fuse and testing it for continuity.

All of the above mentioned components can be accessed and tested from the back of the dryer except the flame sensor and igniter. You will need to remove the vent hose and remove the rear panel.

To access the igniter and flame sensor, the front panel must be taken off. I added a second image below showing how to remove the front panel. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
