Q:

How do I adjust the ribbon that is too high and won't type letters on my Brother typewriter model ML 100 Standard?

A:

It is possible that the ribbon is not aligned properly. Follow the steps in the first image below to properly remove slack from the ribbon cassette. The second image shows how to check the daisy wheel. The third image provides the troubleshooting for this problem. These are excerpts from the owner's manual for your typewriter. Here is link for the owner's manual for your model of typewriter: User's Manual

If these tips do not help, then you likely have a component failure in the typewriter that will have to be repaired by a technician.

Q:

Kenmore washer heavy duty model # 110.22442 100 type 111 is over flowing during fill cycle how do i replace the water level switch?

A:

Hi Barry,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

Here is a video that demonstrates replacing the water level switch (part number W10335056) on a washer similar to yours; Video . Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. The washer in this video may not look exactly like yours, but the procedure is basically the same.

Q:

range does not get higher than 100 degrees

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details, the high limit thermal switch has likely tripped during the high heat of the self clean cycle. The thermal switch is located on the back of the range and will likely have a red wire with a white stripe and a black wire with a white stripe connected to it. You will need to remove the range and take the rear panel off in order to access the thermal switch. There will be a red reset button in the middle of the thermal switch to push and reset. There are no video or written instructions. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

NOTE: Disconnect the range from the power supply before removing the back panel and resetting the thermal switch. I strongly suggest calling a service technician to diagnose why the thermal switch tripped.
