Troubleshooting

Question and Answers

Q:

please provide instructions on how to replace the door handle on a microwave. The plastic piece that encases the screw that attaches to the door cracked.

A:

Thank you for your question.  Replacing a door handle on most appliances is no big deal but a microwave is not the usual appliance. Replacing the door handle is a repair that should only be completed by a service technician. Disassembling the door would involve removing the microwave shielding components. A technician will need to remove these parts, replace the handle, and then reassemble the door. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the door using proper testing equipment before the microwave can be safely returned to service.

I recommend calling a service technician to install the door handle. You can have it repaired at your home by a  Sears technician.  Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services

Q:

kenmore elite model no. 110.45087 401 machine

A:

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

There are four bolts that came with your washer when it was purchased. Usually you can open the door to the washer and push the basket around until the holes line up. If needed you can remove the top so you can see the holes and line them up as you install the bolts.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Q:

f11 code displayed on my kenmore elite he3 model # 11045862 401 why? i have resently replaced motor control unit...

A:

That link for a previous answer that Aashe posted in the previous response provides some good troubleshooting tips for this problem. I recommend that you unplug the washer and check the wiring connections on the main machine control board and the motor control board. Also check the wiring connections on the door lock assembly. You may find a loose wiring connection that is causing this problem.

If that does not help, you will probably need to have a service technician diagnose and repair the washer. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.
