Question and Answers

What would cause my Whirlpool dishwasher to not turn on and the panel lights blinked when the door was shut?

Without addition details I can not be certain if the door switch is the problem or the power supply connection inside the dishwasher junction box. The door switch may or may not be the cause. It could be a loose wire connection on the control board as well. A volt/ohm meter will be needed to see if the voltage supply is making it to control board when the door switches are closed. The part number of the two door switches is 4318273 which will be a switch kit. The door switch is key# 11 in the image I added below. You will need to disconnect power to dishwasher and remove the outer door panel and console. I recommend calling a service technician.

110-120 Volts must be present when measuring across the TAN wire at P8 and the WHITE wire with the VIOLET strip at P7. I added the wiring diagram and trouble shooting information in the image I added below. NOTE: I do not recommend checking voltages unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so, otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dishwasher.
