The images below show that air pressure hose. It is a black hose connected to that pressure switch. The other end is connected to the air trap on the bottom of the washer tub.

Hello Steven. Thanks for providing that model number. The F35 code on your washer indicates a failure of that water level pressure sensor as noted in the above thread. The part number for that component in your washer is W10415587. You can order that part by clicking on the Find Parts link at the top of this page. If you need more help, reply with additional details.

Hello Darcie. Biguggy is correct in the above response. The part number for that pressure switch that is likely causing the F35 code is W10415587. I added a direct link for that part below this response. Biguggy is also correct about checking that air hose tube that goes from that pressure switch to the bottom of the washer tub. You can UNPLUG the washer and remove the top panel to access that pressure switch. Screws at the very back of the top panel can be removed and then you can pull that top panel back and off of the washer. The location of that pressure switch is shown on the first page of this thread. If you find no problems with that air tube, then replacing that pressure switch should fix this problem. If you need more help, let us know.

Hello J.R. Yes that same water level switch (part W10415587) is likely causing your problem. Check for excessive suds in the washer before you replace that switch. If you are using too much detergent or you are using non-HE (High Efficiency) detergent then the excessive suds could be causing the SUD and the F35 error codes. If you do not see excessive suds present then replacing that water level switch should fix your problem. If you need more help, let us know.

You are probably referring to the large item filter on the drain pump that is shown in the image below. It would not hurt to clean out that filter if you still have the bottom front service panel off of the washer (and the washer still UNPLUGGED). Be sure that you place a shallow pan (baking pan) under that opening before removing that large item filter from the pump. You may find some coins or lint in that area. There is sometimes a build-up of mildew that may need to cleaned out using a liquid chlorine bleach and water solution. Use protective gloves when handling that bleach and water solution. If the washer is draining properly and you want to skip that procedure, then it should not matter. If you need more help, let us know.

The model number is normally located on the front panel around the opening to the tub. Open the door to view that area.

I have not heard of any common problems caused by adding power such as Oxy Clean directly to the tub. It sounds like you had an usual situation. Adding Oxy Clean or other powders to directly to the tub should not interfere with the air path between the air trap and the water level pressure transducer in most circumstances. Thanks for letting us know what you found. If you need more assistance, let us know.

Q:

KENMORE F 35 CODE

A:

Thank you for your question.

The F35 indicates a water level pressure sensor failure. The SUD is normally displayed when there is excessive detergent suds in the tub. Make sure you are only using the recommended amount of HE detergent. Then run the washer without clothes on a drain and spin cycle. If the tub is empty and you do not see any suds please continue with the following trouble shooting tips. A loose wire harness connection could be causing this problem if there is no water or suds in the tub. I recommend unplugging the washer and removing the top panel. Screws at the very back of the top panel secure it to the washer frame. Remove the screws and then pull the top panel slightly back and then up and off of the washer. The analog water level pressure sensor is shown in the first image below. The second image shows a clear picture of this component. Check the wire harness connection on this sensor. If you find a loose connection, secure the wire harness properly on the component then reassemble and test the washer. If you continue to get the F35 code, then the pressure switch will need to be replaced.

You can order a new analog water level pressure sensor from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If you need more help with this problem, reply with additional details and the full model number of your Kenmore Elite HE washer.

I am sorry you are still having a problem with the washer. It is possible that you received a defective pressure switch. Before ordering a new switch, I recommend unplugging the unit and removing the top. Next, verify the unit is draining properly. Then remove the pressure hose and blow into it. If the pressure hose is clean and does not have any holes I recommend replacing the switch. If you ordered the pressure switch from Sears partsdirect the switch has a 90 day warranty. Just call 1-800-252-1698 to set up an exchange. Please let me know what you find.
