Question and Answers

Q:

Magic Chef Dishwasher Model # DU2000B, Serial # 18171004WK. Does not turn on.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It would be odd that it does nothing unless it's not getting any voltage to the timer. If it is getting the proper voltage to the timer then it likely has faulty timer.

I added an image below of the wiring diagram and I traced out the electrical circuit to the motor. The timer is turned clockwise in order to start the dishwasher. The timer knob does not push or pull.

If the dishwasher will not fill, hum or make any noises while rotating the timer then one of the door switches is likely faulty or the timer. Voltage must be present across the Blue and Green traced circuits when the timer is turned to any washer cycle.

If your measure 120 volts across the Black and White wires on the two (2) door switches when both door switches are closed then it likely has a faulty timer or a loose wiring connection at the timer.

NOTE: I do NOT recommend checking voltages unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I recommend calling and scheduling a service appointment to have the dishwasher diagnoses and repaired.

Q:

Frigidaire FAC066L7A2 A/C

A:

Without being there to personally hear the noise I will not be able to say with any certainty of what's making the noise. The noise could be emitting from a bad fan motor (key#8), unbalance or bent condenser fan (key#1) or evaporator fan blade (key#11) or you could be hearing the condenser fan blade slinging water through the condenser coil. The noise could also be the compressor (key#1) and not the fan. If it does not make the noise when fan only is pressed then the noise is likely coming from the compressor or a vibration noise. See image below for "Normal" sounds.
