Question and Answers

Q:

lg dle5977w dryer just buzzes but will not turn

A:

The link for a previous answer that Barbara H. provided in the above response may help you resolve this problem with your dryer. Here is another copy of that link: My LG Dryer makes a buzzing noise for the first 15 seconds of operation and then the dryer stops working for whatever reason.

This dryer has a belt switch that will normally prevent the motor from running when the drive belt is broken. If that switch is defective, it is possible that the drive motor is running without the belt. You can use the procedure shown in the link provided above to open the cabinet and check this issue (with the dryer unplugged ).

If you need parts, you can order them from the Sears PartsDirect website.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

I have a LG gas dryer #DLE5977W. & I want to know how to install the latch assy #4027EL1001A to my model. Please help.

A:

Hi Susan,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

You will need to remove the top and front panels. I am including the disassembly instructions in the images below. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or purchase any parts needed for your appliance; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this post.
