Question and Answers

Why won't my LG dryer model DLE3777W dry the clothes properly?

Here is a link for the owner's manual on this model of LG dryer: Owner's Manual .

Since the dryer is heating, it is likely that you have a restricted exhaust air flow problem that is preventing the clothes from drying properly. Make sure that the lint screen is clean. If you use dryer softener sheets, periodically wash the lint screen thoroughly with water and dry it completely to remove softener residue that will build up on this component. Check the vent hose behind the dryer for kinks or clogs.

Try this test:

  • Clean the lint screen.
  • Fill the dryer with a medium load of wet towels.
  • Disconnect the exhaust vent on the back of the dryer so that it will vent directly into your laundry room for this test.
  • Ventilate your laundry room as much as possible during this test.
  • Start the dryer in a heated cycle.
See if the load dries properly while venting directly into the laundry room. If it does, then a restriction in your vent duct system to the outside of your home is causing this problem in your dryer. If you clean the vent duct system, the dryer should work normally.

If the dryer still does not dry properly, check the cycling temperature of the air coming out of the back of the dryer. It should cycle in a range between 120 degrees and 150 degrees. If the dryer is not heating properly, you could have a heating element problem or a control problem.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details (cycling temperatures).

does an lg dryer belt expand and stretch and needs to be replaced.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to know if the dryer belt will stretch and needs replacing.

You did not mention what the problem is.

For as young as this dryer is I would think that the belt is not stretched or worn out yet. But it could happen.

  • If the drum is not rotating I would check the belt idler for not correctly putting tension on the belt.

  • If the belt does shows wear I would replace it.

The part number for the belt is;4400EL2001A and you can purchase it from;Sears Parts Direct .

If you could give us some more information we will be glad to help you further.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
