Q:

Dryer turning off, code df. What to do?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Having the model number of your dryer would help in providing a better answer. I can't be 100 percent sure what the "df" means but if the dryer will not start it likely has something to do with the door switch. (Door Failure)

Reply with the model number and re-verify the fault code if you feel confident in repairing this problem yourself.

Q:

my new kenmore dryer 402.8903 gives me code df and stops running. What means?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "dF" implies a door switch circuit failure. It's not seeing a complete door sense circuit. It could have a loose wire connection at the door switch or a loose connection at the control board.

I recommend calling and scheduling a service technician to come out and repair your new dryer.

Q:

Kenmore Dryer model 402.8903. fault code df - dryer stops

A:

Hi Brian,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your dryer.

The df error code indicates that the control board does not recognize the door sense circuit. The tech sheet advises that the door switch circuit needs to be checked for loose wires and repaired or replaced as needed. I have included an image below that contains the fault codes.

The diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please reply below and I will be happy to give you the checks.
