Question and Answers

Q:

can i vent all models (over the range) of microwaves to the outside

A:

You should be able to vent all of the over-the-range microwaves to the outside of your home. I am not aware of any current models that don't have the ability to exhaust air through a vent duct system to the outside. If you decide on a particular model, you can normally view the installation manual on our website. You can use the owner's manual search tool on our website to find the manual. Click on the "Manuals" tab at the top of this webpage to access that website tool. If you have trouble finding the manual or you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Q:

DRYER CODE DE

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

As Barbara H. suggested adding the model number to the thread would help in providing model specific information.

The "DE" likely is indicating a Door Error. The control doesn't detect the door shut. It could have a faulty door switch, loose wire or a faulty control. The door switch should be disconnected and tested for proper operation with and Ohm meter.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Replace de surface element but still not heated

A:

The elements are powered by a control board (part 316272401). Replacing that control board will problably fix your problem if all of the elements are okay. Unplug the range before accessing internal components.

Note: You may consider calling Sears at 1-800-469-4663 and purchasing a Service Smart Protection agreement to cover that repair. The Service Smart Protection Agreement would cover the cost of the initial repair and cover the range for 1 year with certain limitations.
