Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my dryer not drying my cloths?

A:

Hi Chad,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The first thing I recommend is checking for error codes. This dryer has a way to recall error codes. If the control detects a problem it will identify it with an error code. I am including this information in a set of images below. These error codes are important to ensure proper diagnosis of your appliance.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed.

Q:

GE dryer random shut down

A:

Hi Dee,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

Intermittent issues are always the hardest ones to correct. In my experience they never show up when you “want” them to.

Random shut downs are most often caused by wiring or electronic control issues. You have already checked wiring and connections so let’s see if the control has detected any problems.

I have included a document below that describes the service test mode for this dryer. Try running this test to see if the dryer will declare any error codes.

The other thing I recommend you check is for a venting restriction, this can cause intermittent shut downs.

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post. Thanks again for using Manage My Life.
