Q:

Why is my Kenmore range beeping and displaying "F10"?

A:

In order to stop the beeping will require flipping both house circuit breakers off or by disconnecting the power cord from the power source if pressing Clear/Cancel will not stop the beeping.

The "F10" fault code indicates Runaway temperature. The oven control has sensed a potential runaway oven condition. The oven control may have a shorted relay, or the RTD (temperature sensor) probe may have a gone bad.

Press Clear or Cancel key. Check the RTD temperature sensor probe (compare to probe resistance chart) and replace if necessary. If oven is overheating, disconnect power. If oven continues to overheat when power is reapplied, replace EOC. Severe overheating may require the entire oven to be replaced, should damage be extensive.

The oven temperature sensor probe will need to be taken out and tested first. The oven temperature sensor is located inside the oven cavity in rear upper left hand corner. You will need an ohm meter to measure the resistance of the sensor and then compare it with the "RTD" chart in the image below. At ambient room temperature of 75 degrees plus of minus 2.5 degrees the sensor should measure 1091 ohms plus of minus 5.3 ohms.

If the sensor probe measures approximately 1091 ohms then the oven control board will need to be removed and replaced. The temperature sensor probe is part #316217002 and the oven control is part #316418552R.

Q:

What is best place to buy an iPod touch?

A:

The price for the iPod touch 8 gb is going to be virtually the same anywhere that you buy it. If you have a Shop Your Way Rewards card at Sears, I recommend that you buy it from Sears or Sears.com. You can also buy it from the online Apple Store directly. They will engrave it and ship it for free. Here is a link for the iPod at the Apple store: iPod Touch . Many other stores and websites also have the Ipod Touch available.

Q:

What is the proper way of connecting new spades and does it matter which wire connects to the new switch?

A:

First, since the switch only has 2 terminals it does not make any difference which wires connect to which terminals. The marking on the switch (16A) just indicates that the switch is rated to handle 16 amps of current. Use the 18awg female terminal spades for the wires connecting to the new switch. It's not absolutely necessary to use a crimping tool, but I recommend using one. If you do not make a good tight connection between the bare wire and the female spades it could cause high resistance and cause the wire to heat up and cause damage to the wire and or switch.
