Q:

"craftsman c950 – 52126 – 0, 27 inch snowblower

A:

Thank you for your question on the walk behind snow-thrower.

You may have to remove the lower belly plate to see if there is a burr on the slider shaft for the friction wheel. If there is one please smooth of the burr so the slider yoke will slide back and forth easily.

It also could be out of adjustment and so you can loosen the two bolts on the shift lever and move the friction wheel to the center of the drive plate and the adjust the shift lever to the neutral or first gear position.

I do not have a manual for this model because it is so new but most of the drive system on this snow thrower is the same style.

Please let be know what you find out.

Q:

oil in C950 520520 snowblower

A:

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you. I checked the owners manual and the engine requires 26 oz. of 5W30 oil. If you do not have the dipstick it can be ordered from our parts website Sears Parts Direct and the part number is 36205.

I hope this is helpful.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

Craftsman C950 knocking when auger engaged

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand your concern for the noisy operation.

It sounds like the pulleys are loose on the shaft and that is way it’s knocking.

Without the complete model number for the snow thrower I cannot isolate the area parts you are referring too. C950.XXXXXX, for the rest of the numbers.

Since you have the blower cover off they will use a strap wrench around the fly wheel to hold it.

If you use a hand impact, you should be able to get the bolt loose. Keep in mind that the motor pulleys have spacer washers in between the two pulley sheaves and they may be worn and become loose.

I hope this will help and if you give me the complete model number for the snow blower I will be glad to help you further.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
