Kenmore Model 790.95322303 is not baking properly. I don't think the top element is working properly. Help.

Thank you for your question.

It can be a problem when the oven does not bake properly.

There are a few things he can check.

  • First turn the oven to broil and see if the broil element gets red. If the element gets red it is good.

  • The broil element alternates with the bake element during bake and convection speed bake so if the broil circuit is not working it would affect your baking results.

  • The next check if we have not found the problem yet is the RTD oven temp sensor. It needs to be 1100 ohms at an 80 degree room temperature. If it is not then it will need to be replaced. This is the probe in the oven back wall. He can check this by taking the upper back control panel off and pulling the connector off the control board and check the resistance.

  • The last problem could be caused by the Electronic Oven Control not cycling the broil element. If this is the case you will need to replace the control.

If all of these suggestions check ok, then I would suggest that you re-calibrate the oven control. This is illustrated in the owner’s manual on page 23.

I will send a snap shot of the page for you.

I have also given your husband the bake broil diagram.

I hope this will help.

sears meat grinder

Thank you for your question on the meat grinder.

I am sorry that they told you to take it to a small engine repair shop.

I am sorry but I do not have any information on this old meat grinder.

If the gear case had a form of grease in it you could use food grade lithium grease in the gear case.

If it has a thick oil in the gearcase then you could use a food grade gearcase oil.

You should be able to find this lubricant at a resturant supply store in your area.

Lubricant .

I am sorry that I could not find you this information for the meat grinder.
