Q:

what does code f 05 mean

A:

The "F05" fault code indicates a Water Temperature Sensor Error. If during the water heating step in the wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, the "F05" error code will be displayed. See image below for further instructions.

Potential Causes:

  1. Check the Water Temperature Sensor resistance. It should measure 9.7K ohms at 86 degrees.
  2. Check connections to the Water Temperature Sensor
You will likely find the wire connection had come loose from the temperature sensor. Without having the model number of your HE3t washer I will not be able to confirm if the heater and sensor is located at the lower backside of the tub or at the front lower section of the tub. Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the front lower access panel and checking for loose connections on the temperature sensor.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Kenmore HE 3t will not drain, fails to proceed beyond diag C:05

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I see you found the answer to why it stopped at step C:05. I see in your added statements that after waiting awhile it did advance to step C:06.

Based on the F02 fault code, I would suspect the drain pump is most likely overheating or just faulty when it fails to intermittently drain and display F02. Also, if there is a lot of sudsing, it can also cause it drain slowly and it can prevent the water level switch to not reset causing the machine control board to display F02. If you can confirm the water is all drained out and then F02 displays, I suspect it could be related to oversudsing or the water level switch is sticking and not resetting once the drain pump as finished pumping all the water out. If it the drain pump quits running after it starts, then I would suspect a faulty drain pump.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
