Q:

Singer Futura II 920...Where can I find the accessory kit and optional feet for it?

A:

Thank you for you inquiry.

The accessories that came with your Singer Futura II 920 sewing machine are no longer available as a complete set.

  • There are about 30 different accessory pieces still available as individual purchases from your local Singer Sewing Center, if you know what you are looking for. I would suggest looking in your local yellow pages for your local dealer and ask him to show you what is available.
  • You may also look on the Web by searching for Singer Futura II 920 accessories. You may find someone who is either selling the complete machine or just selling the accessories.
I hope this helps.

Q:

Singer Futura II model 920...How do i change the outer belt and where can I get a new one?

A:

Thank you for your question on the Singer Furtura II 920. There are a couple different versions of the this model and I will need to know if the belt you are referring to is a belt that goes directly from the motor to the hand-wheel or if the is a idler cogged pulley and looks like is has a bent elbow pattern.

Please let me know the model you have.

A:

Thank you Sandy, for the update on the sewing machine. Does the motor make any noise when you push the foot pedal? If the motor runs but the drive wont move then I would think it is the belts of stretched belts that could be adjusted. If the motor does not run when you push the foot control it will require diagnosing whether it is the foot control or the motor or some electrical problem in the wire harness. Please give me a little more detail so we can find the root of the problem. Sam A.

Q:

What does an F1 message on a Kenmore 629 range mean?

A:

The F0-0 code is a no fault code. The control just became confused from something. The F1 code indicates a failed oven temperature sensor or a bad control.

Before removing any screws disconnect the electricity from the range.

The way to determine if the problem is in the sensor or the control is to remove the screws above the oven door opening and lower the control panel. The oven temperature sensor wire are 2 small white wires in a connector with 2 larger black wires.

Measure the resistance across the white wires. At room temperature the resistance should be 1000-1200 ohms.

If the sensor checks in this range the control is bad. If it is out of this range you need to remove the back panel of the range and disconnect the oven temperature sensor from the harness and check it again there. If it checks within the range there is a problem in the wiring harness. If it is out of the range the oven temperature sensor is bad.
