Q:

Why won't my Kenmore electric range model 9500/9200 go into the preheat mode and get up to the proper temperature?

A:

I recommend trying the broil function to see if the broiler element will heat. If not, then you could have a failed broiler element, a blown thermal fuse, a bad temperature sensor probe, a failed electronic control board or a wiring failure. The images below show technical information based on the general model number (9500/9200) that you submitted. If the broiler is not heating, then you can unplug the range and remove the back panel and check the resistance of the broiler element. You can also check the continuity through the thermal fuse. I also recommend checking the resistance of the temperature sensor probe. These checks should help you determine the cause of your heating problem if the broiler element is not heating in the broil function. A technician will normally perform voltage checks in addition to the above tests if necessary. I do not recommend conducting live voltage checks yourself. These types of checks are extremely dangerous. If you are not able to determine the cause of your heating failure using the above checks, then I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the range.

If the broiler element is working properly in the broil function, then I recommend checking the resistance of the bake element as shown below.

If all of the above components are okay, then you could have a wiring failure or an electronic oven control board failure. As noted above, a technician will normally need to perform live voltage checks to properly diagnose the cause of the failure if the above component checks do not help you to determine the cause of your heating failure.

If you need parts, you can order them from the Sears PartsDirect website. Use your full model number to access the parts list diagram for your particular range. The model number is likely on the frame just in front of the right front leveling leg. To view this area, pull the bottom drawer out. The range model number will be in a format such as 665.9500 . . .

Q:

How do I change the hose assembly on a Bissell 9200 Pro Heat steam cleaner?

A:

If you are asking about the flex hose assembly that is used for the accessories, this hose should just pop out of the back of the machine. You should not need to disassemble the unit to remove this hose and replace it.

If you are replacing a different hose assembly, you will likely need to remove the cover as shown in the image below. Be sure that the unit is unplugged before accessing the internal components.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.
