Q:

I have a craftsman air compressor model 919167600

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. If the pressure in the tank is slowly leaking out and you could not find a leak I recommend checking the tank check valve. To check the valve you need to remove the line from the tank that comes from the pump. The part that is threaded into the tank that the line connects to is the check valve. It is ok to remove the line from the check valve but do not remove the check valve with pressure in the tank. Once the line is removed you can spray soapy water into the valve. If bubbles come up from the valve it is leaking. The image below shows how to clean the valve. If cleaning it does not cure the problem I recommend replacing the valve.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark

Q:

I have a craftsman air compressor model 919167600 and it will not turn on. 919167600 Craftsman Air compressor

A:

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry you are having a problem with the air compressor. If the motor will not make any noise at all, I recommend checking the outlet first. Just plug something else into the outlet to verify it has power. If the outlet is fine, unplug the air compressor and remove the pressure switch cover. Then check the wire connections on the switch and inspect the wires going to the motor. After checking the connections, reinstall the cover and check the operation. If it does not start you will need a volt meter to check the voltage to the motor through the switch. If you have a meter and feel confident checking live voltage, remove the pressure switch cover. Then plug the unit in and turn the switch on. Next turn the meter to check AC voltage and place the meter leads on the black and white wires marked LINE. You should have a reading of 120 volts. If you have this reading, you are getting power to the unit. Next, place the leads on the black and white wires marked LOAD. If you have 120 volts, reading the motor is likely the problem. If you do not have 120 volt reading, I recommend replacing the pressure switch.

I have a model number 919167600 Craftsman air compressor. I'm in need of some clarification on a part. Can you help?

A:

The part you need is a part of the pressure switch. You need to replace the pressure switch to get the nipple the tube from the check valve attaches to.
