Question and Answers

Q:

On a Craftsman air compressor, what are the adjustments on the air outlet valve at the bottom of tank?

A:

Our Craftsman air compressors don't have outlet valves at the bottom of the tank. They have a drain valve at the bottom of the tank to drain the water out of the tank after each use.

I am sending you an image of a page from the owners manual that shows the drain valve. If this is not the valve you mean, send another email and we will try to get you the information.

You can download or print an owners manual for the compressor at [www.managemylife.com].

Q:

Re: Compressor Model 919167342. It will run okay for awhile, auto shuts when pressure is reached. Why does it trip the circuit breaker when it tries to start again?

A:

The check valve is the fitting the discharge line from the compressor connects to.

When the compressor cycles off, the check valve holds the pressure inside the tank, and bleeds the pressure out of the discharge line. This allows the compressor to restart without overcoming the tank pressure.

The check valve on your compressor needs to be replaced.
