Compressor quit working 919165190 Craftsman Air compressor

Air compressor stops on compression 919165190 Craftsman Air compressor

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the air compressor. I know how frustrating that is.

This very well could be caused by the motor capacitor going out. Before replacing the motor, you could take the motor and capacitor mounted to it to a local electrical supply house to have tested. If the capacitor is defective, they should be able to assist you with matching one up. The manufacturer hasn't broken one down as a singly replaceable part.

I hope this helps and thanks for using We appreciate your business.

motor shuts down after 3 seconds 919165190 Craftsman Air compressor

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears
I am sorry and do understand your frustration when having trouble with the air compressor.
Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Craftsman model number 919.165190.

If you are using an extension cord then please unplug it and connect it right into the wall.  Low voltage from an extension cord that is not heavy enough will cause the motor to overheat and turn off.

The pressure switchmight have failed and therefore causing it to turn off rapidly.

If there is internal damage to the air compressor will also cause it to turn off as it does.

Sounds mostly that it will be the new pressure switch you will be in need of.

Pressure switch for model 919.165190.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears
