Question and Answers

Q:

I have a Craftsman model 917376675 lawn mower. I put too much oil in, but drained it. The mower won't start. It smokes and then dies. How can I get the engine to run?

A:

Remove the spark plug and clean any oil or carbon on it. With the spark plug removed, pull the starter rope 8-10 times. If oil is blown from the spark plug hole when you pull the starter rope, keep pulling until there is no more oil.

You must remove all the oil from the cylinder before the engine will run properly.
