Question and Answers

Q:

how do I remove the debris shield to get at drive pulley above blade

A:

Thank you for your question. I have provided you with an image below with the instructions for replacing the belt on your mower. to remove the blade block the blade with a piece of wood and remove the blade bolt and blade. The blade adapter should pull off the engine shaft unless it is rusted to the engine shaft.

Try spraying rust buster between the engine shaft and the blade adapter and tapping the blade adapter with a hammer to help the rust buster penetrate. Tap on the back side of the blade adapter to tap it off the engine shaft.

If this procedure doesn’t work, put the blade bolt back into the engine shaft and tighten it until the head is about ½ inch from the blade adapter. Use a gear puller to pull the blade adapter off the shaft.

With the blade adapter off the debris shield will slide off the engine shaft to expose the belt. if you need further assistance please submit more details.

Q:

mower wont stay running

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. By what you have stated I suspect the problem is with old fuel or the carburetor. If the gasoline is less than five weeks old, it should be fine. Then I would double check the carburetor. When checking the carburetor make sure the gasket between the air filter mount and the carburetor is still there and in good shape. If it is missing, the carburetor might not prime when the primer is pushed. I have found a video that will help in cleaning the carburetor. Please click here to watch the video.

If you need further assistance, I will be happy to help. Just reply below.
