Model #917376220 Craftsman walk behind lawnmower, gas

Question and Answers

Q:

Why does my lawn mower start, but is not running with enough power or drive?

A:

Remove the cover to the air cleaner and clean the air cleaner.

Look into the inlet of the carburetor and rotate the throttle plate on top of the carburetor. See if the throttle valve inside the carburetor is rotating to the open and closed position as you rotate the throttle plate on top of the carburetor.

Move the throttle plate so the throttle valve inside the carburetor is fully open, and release the throttle plate on top. The throttle plate should snap back and close the throttle valve inside the carb. If this doesn't happen spray the throttle linkage and the throttle plate with some WD40 to lubricate it.

If this doesn't help, take the mower to a Sears Parts and Service Center or a Sears Retail Store for repair.
