Question and Answers

Q:

Lawn tractor 917-276360 917276360 Craftsman Garden tractor

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with your Craftsman lawn tractor. I will be happy to assist you. I looked up the model number you submitted. According to the manual, this model has belt tension rod that tightens the belt. If the rod is still in the engaged, the belt will seem way to short. I recommend disengaging the tension rod on the left side of the mower. (The image below has the instructions for installing the mower and belt. Just click on the image to enlarge it.) Once you have the rod disengaged, the belt can be put on all the pulleys. Then reengage the tension rod to tighten the belt.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a  Sears technician.  Here is a link for the website:  Sears Home Services.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Q:

Tractor Engine 917276360 Craftsman Garden tractor

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. I looked up the tractor model number you submitted. This tractor originally came with a kohler engine. The model number for that engine should have been CV730-0044. The image below show what the engine looked like. If the tractor has a Briggs and Stratton on it now someone changed the engine. I have seen this before. The cost of the Kohler is more than the Briggs and Stratton. Once the tractor is out of warranty, customers will choose to replace the engine with the cheaper one.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
