Question and Answers

Q:

Craftsman Tractor # 917.275023 Starting/Running Problem 917275023 Craftsman Lawn tractor

A:

You likely have a problem with a seat switch or the clutch/brake switch. I recommend that you examine the wiring connections and check the operation of those switches first. There is a wiring schematic for the tractor on page 33 of the owner's manual. The wiring schematic should help you check the switches and the wiring.

I hope that this information helps. If you need further assistance, let us know.

Q:

the wiring diagram for lawn tractor model # 917275023 in the manual and on line sucks. i can't tell where the wires go. is there a better on that i can use?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The wiring diagram and the electrical diagram in the Operator's Manual are the only ones available. I added two images below copied from the Operator's Manual which you already have. There is no other or better wire diagram or electric diagram available.

The wiring diagram shows wire color and it shows what electrical component each wire is connected to.

Q:

lawn mower won't continue to run

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. By what you have stated i suspect the main jet in the carburetor is plugged. When the jet is partly plugged you can choke the engine to get it run better but once the jet completely plugs the choke will not help. To cure this problem the carburetor has to be cleaned or replaced.

If you would like to do this repair yourself and need assistance please reply below. I will be happy to give you the instructions for cleaning the carburetor.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage my life.
