starter for model # 917273751 917273751 Craftsman Lawn tractor

Thanks for the inquiry and for using
Anytime you need engine related parts like the starter or tune-up items, you need to enter the engine model number into versus the tractor model number. In this case, I see that tractor 917273751 uses a Briggs & Stratton engine with a model of 31H777-0297-E1.
Based upon that engine model, I was able to identify the starter as part number 693551. For convenience, I have included a blue link below that you may click on to be directed to the SearsParts site to view and purchase the needed starter motor.

need instructions on how to replace deflector shield on lawn mower - model 917.273751 917.273751

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly assist you in locating the instructions to replace the deflector shield on your mower. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information that will assist you.
First, you have to remove the push nut on the end of the hinge pin. Usually you have to use a pair of diagonal cutters to cut the nut off. After you have the nut off note the position of the spring. Then remove the hinge pin. While holding the spring on the new deflector, push the deflector onto the deck. Once in position slide the hinge pin in.

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If you did not replace the belt with the proper size belt, it could cause the noise. If the belt was not installed/routed correctly could also cause the noise.  A worn out mandrel(s) or one of the pulleys can also cause the noise you describe. Bent or unbalanced blades can also contribute to the noise.

The deck belt for mower model 917.273751 is part # 144959 at the cost of $34.99 which can be ordered from Searspartsdirect

I also added a link to the Owner's Manual with the instructions for replacing the belt if needed.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
