Model #917272673 Craftsman lawn, tractor

Question and Answers

Q:

I have a craftsman LT1000 riding mower, where is the fuse located? I need a color wire schematic.

A:

The fuse is connected to 2 red wires in the wiring in front of the dash. Sometimes the fuse is under or behind the gas tank and you have to remove the gas tank to find it.

I am sending you a wiring schematic for the mower. The wires are marked for color.

Q:

I have a lawn tractor, model 917272673. I need the part that connects to the spark plug.It is not shown in the manual.

A:

The part you need is shown in the engine parts diagram. Get the model number off the engine and go to [searspartsdirect.com]. Enter the engine model number in the search field.

Our information shows your tractor to have a model 31C707-0230-E1 Briggs and Stratton engine on it.

You can buy the terminal that plugs on the spark plug. You have to cut the ignition wire to remove the old terminal and crimp the new terminal on the wire.

The alternative is to replace the ignition module ( called a armature-magneto in your parts list). To replace the ignition module, you have to remove the upper cover (blower housing) from the engine.

The part numbers for the terminal and the ignition module are:

71 500 492341 1 40.99 31C707-0230-E1 ARMATURE-MAGNETO 71 500 692424 1 6.03 31C707-0230-E1 TERMINAL-SPARK PLUG
